Shoptimizer App Instructions

Welcome to Shoptimizer!!  A tool to help optimize the way people shop both with and without coupons!!  Here is an overview of the screens and fields so you know what they are for:

STORE NAME – this is the field that you would enter the store you are going to shop at.

REBATE VALUE – This is the field that is used to enter the amount you will be receiving back from the store.  We use the word REBATE to mean any type of incentive you receive for making a purchase.  For example, this rebate can be in the form of a catalina, gift card, Register Reward, Extra Care Bucks or some other rebate (incentive) offered by the store.

REBATE THRESHOLD – This is the field that is used to enter the amount you need to hit in order to receive the REBATE.  (i.e. Spend $20 get $10)

PRODUCT NAME – This is the field that you enter the specific product (or nickname of product) you intend to purchase (i.e. Cookies, Toilet Paper) something that will help you remember the item you want to purchase.

EXACT QUANTITY – This is the field that you need to enter the number of items you want to purchase.

For example, if you have a coupon that requires you to purchase the exact quantity of something ($1.00 off 2) then you need to enter 2, 4, 6, 8 as the Exact Quantity and hit YES.

If you want the scenario to include unlimited items you would enter that number (i.e. 10) and hit NO for Exact Quantity.

NOTE:  The system will calculate from the Exact Quantity field down (i.e. if you want 10 items it will calculate the lowest scenario with multiple options using 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1).  If it is an Exact Quantity purchase it will only use that number in the calculation.

PRODUCT PRICE:  This is the price of the item.

COUPON VALUE:  This is the field where you enter the value of the coupon.

 

NOTE:  If you have a coupon for $1.00 off 2 you will need to make the coupon value .50 and make the exact quantity 2 or 4 or 6 (even numbers) so it will calculate properly. 

 

ADD ANOTHER PRODUCT – Once you’ve entered your product / coupon details you would hit Add Another Product so you can continue entering.

 

SAVE AND VIEW RANKINGS – Once you have entered all your products for a particular sale you then hit SAVE AND VIEW RANKINGS.  The system will then calculate the lowest possible scenario using the information you provided.  The system output will list 100 difference scenarios.

 

THE PRODUCT LIST – This is the list of items you entered.  You can edit the item or delete the items by clicking the EDIT button once you have an item on the product list highlighted.  To make an edit click the GREEN arrow, to delete the item click the RED arrow.

 

MAIN SCREEN – SHOP

 

The main screen is the “SHOP” screen.  This screen is used for you to input information on specific deals where you have to hit a certain threshold in order to receive a Rebate. (i.e. Spend $20 get $10).

 

The type of incentive or cash you receive back will differ by store it can be in the form of a rebate, catalina, gift card, Register Reward, Extra Care Bucks or some other incentive offered by the store.
