How to dye Easter Eggs using Food Coloring

how to dye easter eggs using food coloring

Dyeing eggs with your kids is so easy to do. You don’t have to purchase one of those kits to make your dyed Easter Eggs. You can gather up your food coloring from your kitchen, eggs and your vinegar.

Step one~Hard boil your eggs and let them cool.

Step two~Add 10-15 drops of food coloring per cup with a half cup of boiling water and a teaspoon of vinegar.  Do this for each cup of color that you use.

Step three~Add your hard boiled eggs and let them sit for 5-7 minutes to really absorb the color.

You are done. To make this even more fun you can get a white crayon and color on the egg or write on it before you dip it into food coloring. You can add stickers to achieve a polka dot effect too. Add rubber bands for stripes. There’s so much you can do to get your eggs the desired color or art project that you want. It’s so much fun for the kids and the adults alike. After you’ve colored them and then hidden them for your hunt feel free to use them in a salad (follow safety guidelines on how long to keep eggs!). What other ways can you think of to decorate the hard boiled eggs?
