Our Visit to Kalahari Resorts – Wisconsin Dells!

This past week I went with a few friends and their families to the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. My family had never been to Kalahari before although we had driven by it many times. My kids (ages 22, 18 and 15) came with me. As we drove into the Kalahari Resort it was pretty amazing to see all that the resort had to offer. I had no idea it was like its own little world. It has something for both the young and the old, families or couples. My kids were pretty excited to see that they had a Theme Park along with the Waterpark.

Check-in went smoothly and only took a few minutes. The staff was friendly and attentive to us as we checked in. They went through all that the resort had to offer so we knew what we could expect during our stay. The lobby was absolutely beautiful!

All three of our families then drove to our Nyumba Unit (which slept 22) and we were just amazed at how much space we had. There was plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms so no one felt cramped. A very big hit for the entire group was the awesome in-home theater and pool table.

The Nyumba Unit was perfect for our trip because we had planned a Thanksgiving Dinner with the three families and there was plenty of space to cook and prepare a meal without bumping into each other.  The kitchen was equipped nicely with everything we needed and Thanksgiving Dinner was just perfect.  After dinner clean-up was a breeze because we were able to use the in unit dishwasher. I would have to say the best thing about the resort is that the unit is just perfect for large groups, something like a family reunion or get together where you want to be together (but do not want to be on top of each other).

While dinner was cooking we had time to visit the waterpark which was awesome and perfect for kids of every age.  The waterpark itself was a fantastic experience. There were rides for young kids as well as older kids and adults who like a thrill. My 15 year old and 18 year old particularly liked the Tanzanian Twister, and their other favorite was the FlowRider.  For those who aren’t interested in the water rides, there were hot tubs and cabanas to rest and relax in. The Kalahari is going to be opening three new slides and an expanded children’s play area soon. The area was under construction during our stay but definitely something worth going back for. They are opening the Nations First indoor Super-Loop Slides!!

The only downside to the trip was that the visit only lasted one night. There was so much we didn’t get to do that we just have to go back. In fact, after leaving the resort we decided to book a family trip during Christmas Break so that we can enjoy the park to its fullest! I would try recommend visiting Kalahari Resort with your family – it’s a vacation you will never forget and you’ll want to go back for more.
