Shoppers Haul

Another Walgreens Haul…Spent $15.48 – Saved $329.40 – Received $105 in Register Rewards

Total Cash out of Pocket: $15.48
Total Savings: $329.40
Total Register Rewards Received: $105

Well…I had to run out and do a few transactions… well actually 28 transactions!  I had pre-ordered the SPLENDA so I could do the Money Making Deal…and then I decided to do a few more tape transactions to get more Milk, Eggs and Bread for the week (seeing that we go through that very fast for the five of us).

For simplicity I am going to just list what I bought:

  • 72 Scotch Tape
  • 2 Loaves Bread
  • 2 Dozen Eggs
  • 6 Nasogel
  • 6 AquaFresh Kids Toothpaste
  • 2 Gallons Milk
  • 60 Boxes of Splenda

Walgreens often runs Money Making Deals each month…you may not make $4.00 Register Reward for each transaction but the idea is the more coupons you have, the more transactions you can run and the more Register Rewards you will make — which in turn will allow you to buy your groceries at Jewel and spend less out of pocket.  It really is an awesome way to shop!!

If you need help with learning this way of shopping – just send me an email or post a comment and I will get back to you!!

I think I need a better system, but am working on it.
I’ve used coupons off and on & my mom used to also. I’ve gotten back into it, spurred by “Extreme Couponing”. But also by a huge need to cut the budget, gas money is coming out of the grocery fund now…$4.35/gal was the ‘deal’ today. I live in the Chicagoland area, and nobody doubles. This week, the 3 papers I got already paid for themselves with Wags deals!
I saw the tab for classes, not sure how that works, but that may be perfect.
    thanks amanda

Hi Amanda – system is important but the more coupon inserts you get the harder it is to stay “organized”. I get 25-50 inserts a week so I can stock when items go on sale…so my living room sometimes looks like a paper printing plant! :-) What I save weekly definitely covers the cost of my coupons so its a win-win for me and my family. I do offer classes if you are in the Chicagoland area, either at your home if you want to host a “coupon party” for all your friends or at churches or schools. If you want more information on a class send an email to with some details and I will get back to you. Welcome to the world of couponing…it becomes addicting!!
